BOSFL Travel Committee and Vitambi Springs Resort have organized a Bears in the Woods weekend at Vitambi Springs.

Vitambi Springs is a “rustic” campground offering elevated lodging options for those interested in something a little more than roughing it. Choose between home rentals, deluxe cabins or a room in our B&B-style lodging where the breakfast is over at the lodge. Check it out at http://vitambi.com.

Reservations may be made online or over the phone. Be sure to identify yourself as a BOSFL member when making your reservation.

Itinerary

Weekend events are still being organized, but typically Friday tends to be a bit more relaxed as guests arrive at different times and settle in. The first group event kicks off with dinner at 6:00 PM, followed by games in the bar at 9:00 PM.

The highlight of the evening is “Pass the Buck”, an engaging icebreaker with small prizes for participants. The atmosphere is informal—mainly a meet-and-greet—though we’re open to ideas for adding a theme. One suggestion that fits well for the evening is s’mores around the campfire, offering a cozy and social way to start the weekend.

Saturday is the main event day, packed with activities and themed entertainment.

– Breakfast: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
– Lunch: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
– Dinner: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (customized specials based on the weekend theme or attendees)

We can plan a fun afternoon activity at the pool from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, giving guests a chance to unwind and socialize. Our chef, George, has a great handle on what our bear events typically enjoy, but we always welcome menu suggestions.

The highlight of the weekend is Saturday night, starting at 9:30 PM. This night usually follows a specific theme, like Bears in Boxers Party, and could be further enhanced with a DJ, creating a high-energy, memorable experience for everyone. Weather permitting, there will be a bonfire.

Sunday is all about relaxation and good food as the weekend winds down.

Breakfast takes center stage, turning into a larger, more social gathering with special menu additions courtesy of George. While the official check-out time is noon, they take a laid-back approach, allowing guests to ease out of the weekend without feeling rushed.
